hi. i'm lauren hempen.

WHO I AM.

i've been writing since i was 12 years old. as a young girl who loved reading, i had an itch for storytelling. the right teacher, at the right time in my life, pushed me to invest in my craft, and i haven't stopped since.

i majored in English with a concentration in Creative Writing (wrote poetry and read Brit Lit for homework), and I loved it so much I would literally leave parties and hangouts to go do my homework. that's the kind of love i've got for syllable-pushing.

WHAT MY EXPERIENCE IS.

i'm a copywriter with published experience in various industries so far. in order of most experience:

1. pharmaceutical advertising and marketing. i jumped head-first into the pharmaceutical marketing industry as a copywriting intern-turned-full-timer where i've learned how to research and write in a highly-regulated field. 

2. i've done intermittent and volunteer copywriting and copyediting for my mother's nonprofit organization since i was in high school. 

3. some intermittent work in hospital advertising and beauty.
